Our History

The History of Our Church

From Schoolhouse to Sanctuary

What began as an abandoned one-room schoolhouse was transformed into a house of worship in 1926. With just ten charter members and a $300 investment, the church was founded on prayer, vision, and a commitment to reach their community for Christ.

From Part-Time Preaching to Full-Time Ministry

For over two decades, the church grew steadily—from quarter-time gatherings to bi-monthly services, and finally full-time preaching in 1950. Key milestones followed with the dedication of the first education building in 1954 and the completion of the sanctuary in 1956.

Caring for Children and the Community

Over the years, the church expanded its outreach with ministries like a Day Care Center (1971–1976), a Preschool Ministry (still thriving today), and the Bloomingdale Food Pantry—serving physical and spiritual needs in partnership with local churches.

Building for Generations to Come

In the late 1980s, the acquisition of nearby property created space for a kitchen, fellowship hall, and preschool. A groundbreaking in 1998 marked the next step, and by 2003 the church celebrated the opening of a new office and educational facility, positioning the ministry for long-term impact.

(John 1:9) - "That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."
